Senko no Ronde 2
Basic Gameplay Systems
MAIN SHOT
The Main Shot is fired by pressing the main attack button while at a distance from your opponent. Using this alongside your barrier or while dashing will result in a variant Main Shot being fired.
SUB WEAPON
The Sub Weapon displays more unique traits than the Main Shot, such as homing missiles and spread bombs. However, it also takes longer to reload than the main shot. As with the main shot, firing whilst using barrier or dashing will produce a variant attack.
MELEE ATTACK
Being in close proximity to an opponent switches the attack style to melee, which offers two attack types: M (main) and S (sub). M attacks can be comboed, the first attack closing the distance and the second beginning the attack. M attacks can be blocked using the barrier. S attacks are big haymakers, delivered overhead and are also unblockable.
BARRAGE ATTACK
These attacks release a powerful spread of shots in exchange for one unit from the Charge Gauge. Each Rounder has a different Barrage Attack, and each attack has 3 variants, which one is fired being determined by player input. Barrage Attacks cannot be used whilst the Charge Gauge is overheated.
BARRIER / DASH
Raising the barrier is achieved by either pressing the barrier button or, whilst stationary, pressing the action button. Using the barrier will defend against all but a few special, unblockable attacks. The barrier cannot be used whilst the Charge Gauge is overheated. Pushing the action button whilst moving will result in a dash in that direction.
BULLET CANCELLER
The Bullet Canceller can eradicate an opponent’s shots. It does not use the Charge Gauge, and is as such useful when overheated and unable to use the barrier. It is ineffective against beam weapons and certain other special attacks. Furthermore, it can also be used as a melee attack, knocking the opponent down if contact is made.
CHARGE GAUGE RECOVERY ITEMS
Landing an attack on an opponent releases Charge Gauge recovery items. Large amounts of these items are released when landing an attack on an opponent who has their barrier raised or destroying an opponent’s B.O.S.S. Mode. Barrage Attacks and the barrier rely on the Charge Gauge, meaning managing this resource holds the key to victory.
ABILITY
Each machine has its own unique ability. These abilities can be used in battle, some offensive and others defensive, but all with various effects. Once used, they cannot be used again until a predetermined amount of time has passed, the time required being different for each ability.
B.O.S.S MODE
B.O.S.S. Mode can be launched by using one B Stock and allows the use of extremely powerful attacks. Unlike normal attacks, B.O.S.S. Mode uses a series of button presses to release various offensive moves. During B.O.S.S. Mode, the Charge Gauge gradually depletes and when it reaches zero, B.O.S.S. Mode is disengaged. The same result occurs if B.O.S.S. Mode is destroyed.
FINAL B.O.S.S MODE
FINAL B.O.S.S. Mode can be launched when a Rounder is in a state of Vanish (close to defeat). This mode is much stronger than the normal B.O.S.S. Mode and is indicated by a brief character cut-in upon activation. Furthermore, during FINAL B.O.S.S. Mode, each character has their own unique FINAL B.O.S.S. attack. If a FINAL B.O.S.S. Mode is destroyed, the round ends in defeat.
